《精华》英文版征求意见稿——8




我们打坐做功夫,不管念佛或是空观,假使能做到只有一念,意念专一了,而内不出,外不入,即我们的念头不向外攀缘想东想西,外面的境界也不会影响到我们做功夫时,就是止,这样就初步达到静的境界,静的境界不是定,而是定的前兆。虽然坐到后来腿胀脚麻腰酸,然而这也正是定的前兆即还在止的状态中。只要这一点认识清楚了就可以慢慢做功夫了。
We meditate and do Gongfu, whether we recite the Buddha or observe the emptiness, if we can achieve only one thought, the mind is concentrated, and the inside not go out, the outside not enter, that is, our thoughts will not climb outward to think about things, and the realm of the outside will not affect us to do Gongfu, that is calming, so that we will initially reach the state of tranquility. The realm of tranquility is not concentration, but a precursor to concentration. Although the legs are swollen and feet are numb and waist is sore after sitting, this also shows that the prelude of concentration is still in the state of calming. As long as you have a clear understanding of this, you can do Gongfu slowly.

打通任督二脉、三脉七轮,也属于定的前兆即止的状态。然而一般我们做功夫,由于静使生理起变化而里面的念头就跟着跑出来了,而觉得这里酸、那里胀,因此无法做到内不出、外不入,往往功夫就到此为止而无法再进步。假如你能认识这些现象不过是定的前兆,是止中所发生的必然过程,并且能够忍过去,跨过这一步,那么再进一步就可以谈到如何发诸禅定。到了定的境界就转入意念的境界了,不要被生理转着走。一转入这个境界,头顶上慢慢清凉而有甘露水下来,叫醍醐灌顶。

However, in general, when we do Gongfu, because the physiology is changed by the state of tranquility, the thoughts inside follow it out, and we feel sore here and swollen there, so we can’t stay the inside not go out, the outside not enter, Often Gongfu ends here and can no longer improve. If you can realize that these phenomena are only the precursors of concentration, and the inevitable process in the calming, and you can endure the past and cross this step, then you can go a step further and talk about entering meditation. When you reach the state of concentration, you will turn to the state of mind. Don't be turned away by your physiology feelings. As soon as I turn into this realm, the top of your head is slowly cool and there is nectar coming down, which is called ti hu guan ding.

到了定的境界一切功德才能成就,才会发起拙火得暖,打坐腿就不会发麻了,慢慢全身发暖,暖了以后就软了,不管九十几或一百几,得暖以后原本硬化的老骨头都会变成婴儿般,进而气脉就全通了。总之,止能生出一切的善根。
Only when you reach the realm of concentration can you achieve all the merits and virtues, and only then will you be able to start the tummo and get warm, so that your legs won't get numb when you meditate, and slowly your whole body will get warm, and after it gets warm, it will become soft, no matter if it's 90 or 100, after it gets warm, the old bones that were hardened will become like babies, and then Qi veins will be fully opened. In short, calming can bring forth all good roots.

“心息相依”,就是意识妄想之流被截断了,呼吸不动了。心与息本为一体。气是心的附属品。念动然后气动,心动了,息也就动了。思想越乱,呼吸就越乱;思想细了,呼吸也跟着细了;思想不动了,念头不动了、清静了,意识妄想之流被截断了,呼吸就会停下来,就会止息即气住脉停。念头随时能够空掉,气脉自然可以转变。
"Mind-respiration interdependence" means that the delusional flow of consciousness has been cut off, and the breathing paused. Mind and respiration are one body. Qi is an accessory to the heart. The thought moves and then the qi moves, the heart moves, and the respiration moves. The more chaotic the mind, the more chaotic the breathing; the slight the mind, the slight the breathing follows; The mind is not moving, the thoughts are not moving and clear, and the delusional flow of consciousness is cut off, the breathing will pause, and pause of breathing is qi staying and pulse stopping. Thoughts can be emptied at any time, and the qi pulse can naturally change.

真正念头空了,气自然回归,自然会气住脉停,达到二、三禅。调心就是调息,调心无形之中就在调息。心调好了,专一了,得止了,气息自然而然也就会得止。只在呼吸上求止,又加了一个念头,更不能达到止息。止息,关键是止心,不是呼吸的问题。
思想情绪越多,气就越乱,生命本来的功能损失就越多。息调好了,身体自然而然就会健康起来。所以基本上都是心念的关系,就是要调心、止心、正意。如何调心、止心、正意?清醒就是调心、止心、正意。
When the thoughts is truly empty, the qi will naturally return and there naturally be qi staying and pulse stopping and reach the two-stage and three-stage meditations. To regulate the mind is to regulate the breathing, and to regulate the mind is invisibly to regulate the breathing. When the mind is well tuned, focused and got calming, the breathing will naturally pause. If you only seek calming on the breathing and add a thought, you will not be able to pause of breathing. The key to pause of breathing is calming of mind, not a breathing problem.
The more thoughts and emotions, the more chaotic the qi, the more loss of life's original function. When the breathing is well adjusted, the body will naturally be healthy. So basically it's all about the mind, it's about proper mind, calming of mind, and regulated will. How to proper mind, calming of mind, and regulated will? Wakefulness is to proper mind, calming of mind, and regulated will.

正意最重要。意识妄想之流被截断了,什么念头都没有而了了分明,就是正意。简单地说,清醒就是正意。什么姿势都可以。等功夫到了,气脉一通,两条腿自然就会软化盘住。
Regulated will is the most important. The flow of delusions of consciousness has been cut off, and no thoughts have become distinct and well-defined, which is regulated will. Simply put, wakefulness is regulated will. Any posture is fine. When the Gongfu is completed and the Qi veins are opened, the two legs will naturally soften and you can sit cross-legged.

把思想念头完全放空灵了,听其自然。当思想念头真的完全空灵了,呼吸就会慢慢充满,它自己自然停止,这个叫做止息。要想修道,就把念头空了,不加助力,不紧张,然后呼吸自然而然就会慢慢停止,达到心息相依,这个叫修道,叫做功夫。
Put your thoughts and ideas completely out of your mind and let them be natural. When the thought is really completely empty, the breath will slowly fill, and it will naturally stop, which is called pause of breathing. If you want to cultivate Tao, you should empty your mind, do not help, do not be nervous, and then breathing will naturally stop slowly, to achieve the "Mind-respiration interdependence", this is called cultivation, called Gongfu.

做功夫要专一来修。所谓专一,就是一切万缘放下,像出家人一样,专门在修。不过在家人很难做到。但也必须有一个阶段专修,再来入世做事。普通在社会上做事,又想做功夫,必须经常要找短时间,一天、两天、三天,或者七天,随时在实验,慢慢短期的实验累积起来,这是初步的。平时各种欲念也要减少,否则思想很难空灵。
To do Gongfu, you should be dedicated to it. The so-called single-minded is to let go of the all conditions, like a monk, specializing in cultivating. But it is difficult for laymen to do it. But there must also be a stage of specialization before joining the world to do things. Ordinarily doing things in society and wanting to do Gongfu, you must often find a short period of time, one day, two days, three days, or seven days, to experiment at any time, and slowly accumulate short-term experiments. This is preliminary. Normally, all kinds of desires should also be reduced, otherwise the mind will be difficult to be ethereal.

前面讲过,“意识妄想之流被截断,这一刹那不是只有在打坐时才能来到,行住坐卧任何姿势都可以发生。碰上了千万不要错过,就定在那上面,越久越好”。果真如此做到了,气脉一定会发生变化。
As mentioned earlier, "the stream of delusions of consciousness has been cut off, this ksana does not come only in meditation, but can happen in any posture of walking, sitting or lying. Only when the stream of delusions of consciousness is cut off can an epiphany be possible. Don't miss it if you run into it, just stay there, the longer the better." If this is really done, the qi veins will definitely change.

当欲念一来时,四大都在动,四大都受损害,佛经以灾难称之。任何一念一动,四大都会动,都不归位。人的身体为什么不能得定?因为都不归位,都不均衡。实质就是思想妄念川流不息,停不下来。
When desire comes, all four great elements are moving and all are damaged. The Buddhist scriptures call this by disasters. With any thought or movement, the four great elements will move, and they won't return. Why can't the human body attain meditation? Because they are not returned, they are not balanced. The essence is that the flow of thought and delusions of  is endless and cannot be stopped.

定有一个条件,就是轻安。头顶上发清凉是轻安的前奏。不过,由上而下的轻安容易退失,有时会全垮了。由脚心发起的一股力量,由下至上,就不易退失。如何是轻安呢?身体的粗重障碍没有了,没有身体的感受,轻灵到极点。真得定了,坐着觉得似腾空,就是那么轻安。三脉七轮都通透了,身体才会发生轻安。
There must be one condition, which is calmness. Cool on the top of the head is a prelude to calmness. However, the top-down calmness is easy to retreat and sometimes collapses completely. A force initiated by the soles of the feet, from bottom to top, is not easy to retreat. How is calmness? The body's rough and heavy obstacles are gone, there is no physical feeling, and it is extremely ethereal. Meditation really got, sitting in the air, it feels so Peaceful and at Ease. Only when the three chakras and seven chakras are transparent, the body will feel Peaceful and at Ease.

在智慧观照的境界中【清醒时时显现】就有定。要以无分别智观,在不分别中自然而观,叫般若,不是普通的观,而是永远在定中,无分别的观,虽然能够观一切理、通一切智,却是没有妄念。此为修般若Prajna,以智慧为依归。
In the realm of wisdom observation [wakefulness manifests at all times] there is concentration. It is necessary to observe indiscriminate wisdom and observe naturally in the absence of discrimination. It is called Prajna. It is not an ordinary view, but an indiscriminate view that is always in concentration. Although it can observe all principles and understand all wisdom, there is no delusion. This is the practice of Prajna, based on wisdom.

一念清醒就是止观双运,就是定慧。
A wakefulness is the calming and insight meditation, which is concentration and wisdom.

一坐就已经得止了,这个时候不需要起观,不必刻意再进一步去观,止当中就有观。不一定打坐,眼睛一闭,就感觉跟普通活动不同了,这种感觉就是观,观也来了,止也来了,很现成的,别再钻牛角尖。然后慢慢宁静,进一步宁静,你进一步体会,进一步体会,进一步宁静,这样止观双运,两者同时并进。
As soon as you sit down, you have already got the calming, at this time you don't need to start the insight, you don't need to deliberately go further to the insight, there is the insight in the calming. It is not necessary to meditate, once you close your eyes, you feel different from ordinary activities, this feeling is the insight, the insight also comes, the calming also comes, very ready-made, do not over analyze. And then slowly serenity, further serenity, you further experience, further experience, further serenity, so that you can practice calming and insight meditation and both go hand in hand.

观,就是注意,注意力就是观的作用。止就是安详、宁静。只要外界不起作用,自然很安详,也就是止,同时把注意力集中观察自己当时的心理状况就是观。
从止观,到最后悟道成佛,不是止的功夫,完全是观,是观的作用。身心不是止所能止得了的,是观,唯有观才能止。念头不是止所能止得了的,是靠观来破的。全部佛法就是一条路:“止观”。
Insight is paying attention, and attention is the function of Insight. Calming is serene and quiet. As long as the outside world doesn't work, it is naturally peaceful, that is Calming. At the same time, focusing on observing your own psychological condition at that time is the Insight.
From Calming and Insight to finally becoming a Buddha, it is not the effort of Calming, it is entirely the Insight, the role of Insight. The body and mind cannot be stopped by Calming, it is Insight, and only the Insight can stop. Thoughts cannot be stopped by Calming, they are broken by Insight. All Buddhism is one path: "Calming and Insight".

定指的是意念的专一。假如能修定,等于暗室中的一盏明灯照破了千年黑暗。只有智慧的明灯这一点亮光才能照破几千亿万年的黑暗。智慧的亮光一动就破除了无数劫来的恶业。
Concentration(samadhi) refers to the specificity of the mind. If one can practice concentration, it is the same as a bright light in the dark room shining through a thousand years of darkness. Only the light of the beacon of wisdom can illuminate the darkness of hundreds of millions of years. As soon as the bright light of wisdom shines, it breaks the evil karma of countless kalpas.

修行不论大小乘,要是没有到定的境界,都是白修一场。见了道的人,不能不走禅定的路,道理再高明,没有定力也是不行。
何为定?就是断一切妄想烦恼,断贪瞋痴慢疑,就是没有身心的存在,与天空一样清,无量无边,既不昏沉,又不散乱,清清楚楚,心念不起,清明在躬,非常清醒,清醒到极点。身体内外一片光明,这是本醒光明,昼夜不变,动中静中都在一片光明中,这也就是虹光身。
Regardless of the practice of Mahayana and Hinayana, if you do not reach the level of concentration, you will practice for nothing. Those who have seen the Tao have to take the path of meditation. No matter how good the principle is, it will not do without concentration.
What is concentration? It means to cut off all delusions and troubles, to cut off greed, hate, stupidity, arrogance and doubt, that is, to have no existence of body and mind, to be as clear as the sky, to be limitless, neither groggy nor distracted, to be clear and distinct, to have no thought of the mind, Qingming bowed in, to be very awake, to be awake to the extreme. The body is bright inside and outside, this is the light of the original awakening, unchanging day and night, in motion and in stillness, this is also the Rainbow body.

定,就是凝神。
慧到了才能真得定。
打坐为什么不能入定?忍住就定了嘛。用心专一,专一以后神气两个结合就得定了,没有不成功的。修道没有什么奥秘,就是神气两个结合而已,是温暖地结合。就那么简单。
Concentration is with rapt attention.
It is only when wisdom arrives that one can truly attain concentration.
Why can't you enter concentration when meditating? Just hold on. The heart is single-minded, you will enter concentration with the spirit and qi combinations after single-minded, and there is no unsuccessful. There is no mystery to the practice of Tao, it is just the combination of  the spirit and qi, a warm combination. It's that simple.

一点灵明不昧的清醒是本来存在的。让一点灵明的清醒做主,到完全空了,身上气机精气就发动了。清醒继续做主,就制服了气脉。慢慢这样下去,气脉安定了,就回归中脉,达到脉解心开。心脉打开,自己会“砰”一下,胸口好像拉开了一样,打开了心胸。一脉通百脉通,是指中脉一通,百脉自然都通了。
A little lucid wakefulness is inherently there. Let a little lucid wakefulness take control, and when you are completely empty, your body's qi movement will be activated. wakefulness continue to call the shots, and then subdued the Qi pulse. Slowly going on like this, the qi pulse is stabilized, and then it returns to the sushumna, and the pulse is relieved. When the heart vein is opened, it will "bang", as if your chest is pulled open, opening your  heart. One meridian is connected to one hundred meridians, meaning that when the sushumna is connected, all the various meridians are naturally connected.

此时,从头顶开始身心内外一片白光,是有相的光明。头顶上自然有甘露流下来。到这个时候特别要注意营养,要吃好的饮食,而且避开一切人事的干扰。到了这一步,要入密室,在不通风的地方,甚至到没有鸟雀声音的地方,一切声音都沉寂了。这个阶段才是得到天元丹的境界。
At this time, from the top of the head, there is a white light inside and outside of the body and mind, and it is a bright light with phase. Naturally, nectar flows down from the top of the head. At this time, you must pay special attention to nutrition, eat a good diet, and avoid all personnel interference. At this point, you have to enter the secret room. In a place with no ventilation, or even in a place where there is no sound of birds, all sounds are silent. This stage is the realm of obtaining Tianyuan Pill.

这时气脉就真通了,所有神经细胞自然会松开,身心清静了,没有气脉的感觉了,没有身体的感觉了,妄念不生,身心两忘,天人合一,就是“百脉冲和”的境界,回到本醒的范围,这个时候就是大定,是色界光明定境。定一旦产生力量成为定力,就不会再被思想妄念以及生理上的诸如酸胀麻痛等感觉拉走,就“心能转物”了。只要定力增长了,智慧自然一天一天增长。
At this time, the qi vessels are really open, all the nerve cells will naturally be loosened, the body and mind are quiet, there is no more feeling of the vessels, no more feeling of the body, no more delusion, the body and mind are forgotten, the unite nature and humanity, that is the realm of "hundred pulses and", back to the scope of the original awakening, The concentration at this time is the great concentration, is the bright concentration of realm of form. Once the power of concentration is generated, it will no longer be pulled away by delusions of thought and physical sensations such as soreness, swelling and numbness, and the "mind can turn things around". As long as the power of concentration  grows, wisdom will naturally grow day by day.

心轮之脉,必须心空一念,方可“脉解心开”,内外一片光明,即到色界光明定境。
炁,无火之谓“炁”。炁是心清净无思无虑的境界。它是生命的能源,换句话说,生命是由原始的炁变化来的。找到自己生命中的这个能源,才可以改变自己这个身体而合于宇宙法则,即才可以得道。
放下身心的感受,放下身体这个念头,身体内部气的流动将更加通畅。
The chakra of the heart chakra, the heart must be empty of a thought, in order to "chakra relief heart open", inside and outside a piece of light, that is, to the bright concentration of realm of form.
The 炁, without fire, is called "Innate qi". The 炁 is the state where the mind is pure and free of thoughts and worries. It is the energy of life, in other words, life is changed from the original 炁. Only when you find this energy source in your own life can you change your body and conform to the laws of the universe, that is, only then can you attain the Tao.
By letting go of the feelings of the body and mind, by letting go of this thought of the body, the flow of qi within the body will be more fluid.

中脉是蓝色的,中脉通了,就一片光明,蓝天一样。中脉,由头顶的囟门,中间靠后脑一点点的地方,与虚空连下来,一直下来通到海底。【中脉上通虚空,下达海底】。
The sushumna is blue, and when the sushumna is connected, it is bright, like a blue sky. The midrib, from the fontanelle on the top of the head, and a little bit closer to the back of the head, connects to the void, and goes down to the sea floor. [The sushumna goes up through the void, and descends to the sea floor].

气脉真正通了,身体内在的光明才能生起。光明生起以后,拙火才能起来。拙火发动了就能够与虚空合一,“与天地精神相往来”。此时才能真正截断妄念、烦恼。
不能得定是有身体的感觉。
When the qi veins are truly connected, the light within the body can arise. After the light arises, the tummo can rise. When tummo is activated, it can become one with the void and "communicate with the spirit of heaven and earth." Only then can we really cut off delusions and worries.
The reason for not being able to meditate is because of the physical sensation.

气修不通,脉络转化不了,不能得定。中脉不通而言得定者,绝无是处。气脉通不通和打坐是两回事。但气脉通了,要坐多久就坐多久。
If the qi can't get through, the veins and collaterals cannot be transformed,  one cannot got meditation. There is no place for a person to say that he has attained meditation when his sushumna is not connected. Whether the qi pulse is open or closed and meditation are two different things. But when the qi pulse is open, you can sit for as long as you want.

息就是不呼不吸、不进不出,停止在那儿,是完全宁静,与虚空相通、合一的境界。此时,身体内部的障碍统统没有了,没有痛苦难受,酸麻胀痛痒等等感受一点都没有。简单地说,息就是身心内外通透无碍,与虚空合一了,虚空就是我,我就是虚空。它是生命的本源,是了生死的法门。
认识了生命里的本元之气即息,才开始叫做真正修禅定、做功夫,才能控制生命、转变生命。真正的气脉通,就是达到了息的境界,即整个身心与虚空相互通透无碍,合一了,是真正的“天人合一”境界。没有与虚空相通合一,你的气脉是无论如何也不会真通的。
Respiration means neither inhalation nor exhalation, no entry and no exit, and it pauses there. It is a state of complete tranquility, connected with the void, and oneness. At this time, all the obstacles inside the body are gone, there is no pain, no feelings of soreness, no acid, no numbness, no swelling,no  pain, no itching, etc. at all. To put it simply, respiration means that the body and mind are transparent and unobstructed inside and outside, united with the void, the void is me, and I am the void. It is the source of life and the method of free from life and death.
Recognizing the qi of essence of life as respiration, and only then can it be called true meditation and Gongfu practice, in order to control and transform life. The real qi pulse connection through out the whole body means reaching the realm of respiration, that is, the whole body and mind and the void are mutually transparent and unobstructed, and when they are united as one, it is the real realm of "the unite nature and humanity". Without being united with the void, Your qi pulse is not really through in any case.

禅宗的修法完全靠心力自己把气脉转化了,达到息的境界。但心力要非常坚强!念头要随时能够空掉,气脉自然可以转变。这一步功夫非常非常难!
种子气的气是空的,是心物一元的,是念力,也是心力。(种子气是涵盖整个宇宙虚空的,是大而无外、小而无内的)。
Zen's practice completely relies on mind effort to transform the qi pulse and reach the realm of respiration. But the mind effort must be very strong! Thoughts should be able to be emptied at any time, and the qi pulse can naturally change. This step is very, very difficult!
The qi of the Seed Qi is empty, the mind and matter are unitary as one, and it is the effort of thought and the effort of mind. (Seed Qi covers the entire void of the universe, it is big without outside, small without inside).

修脉,就是要知道身体内部哪里发暖,哪里发冷。
气到了足心,才能谈到三脉七轮。气脉打通了,准可得定。
修行之所以不能证果,不外四个字:男女饮食。若不转化,什么基础都没了。男女饮食没有断,身体都有毛病,就成为修行的障碍。
To cultivate the chakras(pulse) is to know where the body is warm and where it is cold.
When the qi reaches the heart of the foot, only then can we talk about the three nadis and seven chakras. When the qi pulse is opened, one certainly got meditation.
The reason why cultivation cannot be proved is just two words: sex and diet. If you don't transform them, all the foundation is gone. If sex and diet are not broken, the body has problems, and it becomes an obstacle to cultivation.

所有的病都是因为气不通而引起的。要证果入定,非休粮辟谷不可。真得定,修持达到气脉通了,到了辟谷境界,不要饮食了,只喝水,它完全通的,内身就变成玻璃体了。
到了心息相依,完全专一的时候,最好连饮食都不管,一吃东西就阻碍住了。不要怕饿,饿不死。人不一定吃饭,服气就可以了。走修行之路,肠胃一定要清爽。
All illnesses are caused by the impassability of qi pulse. To prove the fruit and enter into concentration, it is necessary to stop food and not to eat. The meditation has really got, and the practice has reached the state where the Qi pulse is completely energized, reached the realm of inedia-don’t need to eat, just drink water. It is completely connected, and the inner body becomes vitreous.
When the mind and respiration are interdependent and fully dedicated, it's best to ignore the diet, as soon as you eat something, it will hinder you for practice. Do not be afraid of hunger, hunger can not die in the time of practicing. One does not have to eat, just eat the qi(breatharianism). To walk the path of cultivation, the intestines and stomach must keep cleanlily.

到止以后,一直坐下去、止下去,进一步变化就大了。可惜到这个时候你的心动了,爱动的习气起来了,就坐不下去了。为什么修行永远不上路?就是因为忍不住。此时就要忍住。忍住一下,再延续下去。忍是很重要的,忍不是定。由忍到止,忍住就过去了。
After the Calming, just sit down and keep Calming, and further changes will be made. It's a pity that at this time your heart is moved, and the habit of loving to move is up, and you can't sit down anymore. Why does the practice never achieve the desired results? Just because you can't help it. You must hold back at this time. Hold it back for a while and continue. Forbearance is very important, forbearance is not concentration. From forbearance to Calming. hold on and it will pass.

修到止息,身体内部的变化就很大了,非常非常大,全身气血流通,一切都知道了。到这个境界,就要有个环境专修下去了。止息即气住脉停是要专修的。如果想要在入世做事中能够达到随时止息,那是不得了的大功夫,是大菩萨才能做到的境界。
Cultivate to pause of breathing, the changes inside the body will be very big, very, very big. Circulation of qi and blood throughout the body, and everything is known. At this level, it is necessary to have an environment specialization. The pausing of breathing, that is qi staying and pulse stopping, requires specialization. If you want to be able to pausing of breathing at any time when you enter the world and do things, that is an incredible great skill and a realm that the Great Bodhisattva can achieve.

心不要注意上面,一切凡夫都习惯注意上面。心沉下,纯阳之气就上升,如此才能得定。不把心沉下去,纯阳之气就会下沉,永远不会得定。第六意识的用在脑里头,思想、妄念在脑里头用。“心”,硬是心脏部分啊!心脏并没有思想,但是的确是一部分。平常做事,把心沉到心脏这一部分来做事,少管脑,你就不同!定力够了,记忆力增强了。参话头、观想、念佛、念咒子,都在用第六意识、在用脑——错了!所以不能得定、不能证道。心,你应放在心脏部位,有绝对道理!这是科学。不是讲心脏就是心啊!可是你使用的部分——“心”主要在这里。所以念佛你在心中念,不要在脑中念。
Don't pay attention to the above, all ordinary people are used to paying attention to the above. When the heart sinks, the pure yang qi rises, so that concentration can be achieved. If you don't sink your heart, the pure Yang qi will sink, and you will never achieve concentration. The use of sixth consciousness is in the brain, and thoughts and delusions are used in the brain. "Mind", just the heart part-the organ in the chest! The heart has no thoughts, but it is part of it. Do things normally, put your mind down to the part of the heart to do things, don't care about your brain, you are different! The concentration is enough, and the memory is enhanced. Meditation on a huatou, visualizing, chanting Buddha, and chanting mantras are all using the sixth consciousness and the brain-wrong! So you can't attain the concentration and the enlightened path. Mind, you should put it on the heart[the organ in the chest], there is absolute truth! This is science. It's not that the organ of heart is the heart! But the part you use - the "heart" - is mainly here. So when you recite Buddha, you should do it in your heart, not in your head.
